BCCI to penalize foreign players who withdraw from Tata IPL 2022 : Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering sanction and strict action against foreign players who withdraw from Indian Premier League (IPL) at last moment. In the recent past, we have seen many cases where foreign players withdrew from the elite T20 tournament citing inadequate reasons, at the last moment, after being chosen in the auction. In the current edition of the Indian Premier League, England players Jason Roy (Gujarat Titans) and Alex Hales (Kolkata Knight Riders) have withdrawn from the tournament citing bubble fatigue. At the recently held Indian Premier League (IPL) Board meeting, the board members looked closely at the matter and promised to come up with strong and tough actions against these cricketers. According to reports from Cricbuzz, a few IPL franchises have raised concerns over the increase in foreign players withdrawing from Tata IPL. The GC has a binder to the franchises who are the main stakeholders in the opposition. They buy a player after a lot of planning. Their calculations go askew if a player withdraws, even for weak reasons," said a GC member. It was further learned that action will be taken after hearing specific cases. True acceptable reasons will be secured by punishment, however, players with inadequate explanations will face strict action. “There will be no radical policy of banning anyone who has drawn from the IPL for a certain number of years. This will be done on a case by case basis and an investigation will be conducted before the action is initiated. And if the reason is real," added a source. England striker Jason Roy said he wanted to spend some quality time with his family and also wanted to work on his cricket over the next two months. Ahead of IPL 2022, a busy schedule awaits English cricket.
I feel it's only correct for me to spend some worth moment with my family.. As well as spending time on myself and my game over the next two months, leading into a very busy year," Roy said.
